Leaving India was not something I had planned, ever. But, I had to leave India when I was told to. You know the voices in your head, more like the voices in your heart, to say. So I chose to follow my heart.

I had business with the people in UAE, Bahrain and Qatar, and when my wife received an offer to join the health care sector as a lecturer. I thought it would be ok to move towards a different angle where the view would also be different.

I have left home before, several times, but never too long as this one would be . I always make it short and I will come back home before the next season change. But this time, the call came loud, ‘move! your real purpose starts now’. I cannot resist that, I couldn’t and I wouldn’t.

It was hot, the weather was not friendly, it was someone holding a zippo lit near your face, and sticking it on your cheeks every time the wind blows. It was the season of Ramadan. That is when I heard, back home it is dark and raining and people are enjoying a long bottom leaf smoke and whisky.

The minute I landed into the nations of the Arabs, my mind and body started to transform and make adjustments to the new terrain. Perceptions that had influenced the mind changed immediately. What we knew of the middle eastern people and the tribe culture is not all that complete. We have been receiving broken information and incorrect news about the people of this land. Now I know why they call the TV the idiot box, and papers as bullshit in print.

But except for the discovery channel. Facts are facts and if you have the wisdom, you will have the ability to see the difference. It’s like this, there is existence of hunger in the world and there is existence of ‘black hole’ in the universe, but what we choose to give more attention, makes the difference. Took off from the road did I? I have that; it is ADD, like I can’t read a book with too many descriptions on a subject. I will start to literally visualizing it and be water coloring it in my mind.

I was picked up by new set of people from the airport, a Canadian couple, my wife’s colleagues. Very kind of them to do that, cuz I wouldn’t do that. On the way they were talking abut the ‘things to do’ here. My first ‘thing to do’ plan was to fill the tub with beer and drown myself to coma.

They were old timers, playing golf, tennis, cycling and the regular old timer things. I was looking for activities that involves a higher level of strain to the body, like mma , kickboxing, horse riding , rock climbing, yes, one of them can kill me. But it is better than getting your nads knocked off by tennis balls and live with a paralyzed penis.

So was enquiring about them about Krav maga classes, if they had any around, the couple did not know what that was so I started to explain to them as it is a Israeli martial arts , combat technique used in mossad training academy. And the man driving asked me to ‘stop right there’, I was thinking that he had a question about how to pronounce krav maga , he asked me to repeat and confirm’ did you just say ‘Israeli martial arts’??

I said yes ‘Israeli martial arts’, and he with a warning tone, turned and looked at me as if he works for the intelligence agency, and said “you will never use the word Israel or Israeli in this land. It is forbidden”

So I asked him, why is it forbidden,? Please tell me the exact reason. He turned again and looked at me with again that ‘spy’ look and said, it is forbidden. So I knew that he had no clue as why. But on the surface level most of us who reads and flips through bbc and cnn knows that it is forbidden. Why it started , what was the real reason for it to start. Not a clue.

So now you are making boundaries between me and the Israeli’s? it is the matter left to two tribes, it is the matter left with two governments , it is the matter left to the people who does not matter to us. So why are you making those boundaries? And who are you here. You have come here to dig for gold, get your gold, fill that hole of your life and get out! If I or anyone has the heart to love or give respect each other’s existence, you cannot and will not try to stop it or forbid it.

Can’t blame that man, he reads the paper when he wakes up and watches tv before he sleeps. It is a point where the mind is too weak and resting, so hypnotizing it, is too easy. He is been windup like a toy to repeat things as told but not to reason what has been told.

This is going to continue to another level. It is about advancing in technology and how we die for it.

Will, the real blogger please stand up ?

Through the last few years, until recent times of virtual communication and networking, the concept of blogging and the prominence of blogs in influencing personalities and perspectives have been and are still measured with immense reception. Blogging is the latest modus operandi of content distribution and sharing. Blogs are by itself a repository of knowledge, news, and verticals of information. These platforms provide a personal review of different subjects that revolve around us with customized insights from each individual, each blogger. And a blog has many definitions of its own and can go on more about it.

Enthusiasts continue to utilize this medium by the hour, as they realize that communication is important and so is a personal viewpoint. Details that trigger discussions cannot be set by character limitations and needs to be elaborated with clarity, evidences, sensitivity, and references. These details can however then are compared, contrasted, and debated upon between different lines of societal thinking; mainly referring to bloggers who may have thoughts and viewpoints otherwise from what is being stated.

Blogging sets a whole new dimension. In the blogosphere, one does not need a name, a place, a set of people, or the perfect subject to start on with their discussion with the world. The intensity of the subject of a blog and its post is what entices interpreters. No one chooses a blog based on the number of friends he or she has. Unlike other social networking platforms, this is one space you will be known for who you are and not someone you are not.

The concept of blogging has groomed in a manner that it has become more about community building, rather than exhibiting content. Bloggers these days have the power to revolutionize and improve what’s in existence. Just three lines in a post are sufficient to influence a reader and make him accept or argue about what is being discussed.

Unfortunately, in India , the power of words are not utilized for the right purpose and it is more inclined towards unrealism such as conceptualizing on new theories that does not matter to anyone, Bollywood (the Indian movie industry ) cricket and corporates who treats bloggers as content developers and not people who would really influence decisions . This goes to the main stream media as well such as the press, commonly known as propagandist and corporate whores. They are always asked, paid for, and made to write the content directly or indirectly. The questions is, are both medium realistic or more materialistic?

What’s interesting is that in India there are more than 2 lakh + bloggers, the regional language ones are more than the ones who writes in English. The difference is that, the regional ones talk about the real world and the facts and the other mostly about the world they have made of their own. The readership is less for the later compared to the former.

We fail to understand the medium called blog that has the power to communicate cross border, understand cross culture and even educate the uneducated about each other’s existence. That is what we require now. Commercializing it while the struggle is over your capacity of resistance is not the current requirement.

You are given the power to communicate, through various medium and forms, exercises it responsibly and be of use to the society.

The Fear of ‘Ultimate Power’.

Has ‘superman’ ever thought that when he is flying 30000 mts above at 500 miles/ hr, he loses his flying power?

The greatest Fear after attaining all superior powers is, losing those powers . That is when one realizes that with great powers, comes great responsibility and along with it comes the greatest Fear.

That fear is the dark side of all invincible beings.

To protect Ultimate powers, the power is shared, and when the power is shared, it is misused, and that is when the system becomes corrupt.

Superior powers always resist themselves from entering into a transparent space. They must also protect the ones with who powers are shared. They want to be excluded from questioning and scrutiny.And more is shared ... untill the ultimate power weakens, a total imbalance, chaos and distrust.

But, Only the strongest heart can hold the ultimate power, only the indigenous one can withhold it. And there will be optimum balance in our sheer existence.

Fall of Nations

The Governments of Nations are losing their powers. Trust laid upon them dissolves in doubt. The human race is in starvation of truth and hunger for a free world that can let them live in peace as ordered initially.

But the controllers have deceived an army of templars, knights and assassin to fight till end. A war that is not of this world.

Darkness has an appetite for brightness, and the mouth is as bigger than the whole land of the beings. Not a chance of survival. The fangs of darkness are poisonous that it injects desire, the agent of weakness, in to the strongest.

Desire is the secret ally to the dark side. When things go wrong in 1:1000 it is bound to be 1:100000 soon and when you become part of the equation,it will all be too late...

Power misused becomes negative devastating energy that goes out and comes around. It has now turning its course upon us. That is natural.

Walk in the center and let others walk their own. Be sure not to follow or be followed. Stand alone to show the difference, exercise your rights. You will be free and Nations shall raise once again for peace for a 1000 years.

Drill ships cruises over Earth

After our two days of stay near Perumal Malai , we decided to head back to Chennai and continue the story on Kalpakkam atomic plant. When we reached Krishnagiri, we made a small change in course and planned to check out one last place, the mountains of Yercuad. It was once the play ground of the British Raj. But It was once actually the kingdom for some of the most exotic species of birds and animals. But for making it safer for the humans to stay, they hunted, shot killed many bears and leopards and drove away snakes, elephants and bisons. One can hardly spot some foxes and some wild boars these days.

We reached yercuad around 11 pm and boarded a place to rest for the night . In the morning we walked to a nearby stream for a swim. The water was extremely cold and it was raining too. It was like placing your body for power charge, with coldness.

We had our bags packed ready at he hotel and quickly finished our breakfast and climbed down the mountain, heading our way back home.

While we were coming down the mountain, I saw something that i felt, it cannot be.Sand quarrying agents have dug out more than 100 feet into earth , and for more than 50 sq km area in total. Its gone. As I was adjusting my lens for a clear shots , I met an old villager who also stood next to me and was watching what I was doing.

I asked him, what happened down there? , “that was once the great forest region in this district filled with centurion trees and great beasts. He pointed and made a circle to mark the place and told me , there was once a huge hill stood there. They brought it down to ground level. There were 3 such hills and they all are gone now” he said.

The pics that might help you understand how the land is being eaten up like a caterpillar chewing on a leaf. Look close to the left corner of the first pic, you will find the beginning and then the huge gapping hole dug after. It has now reached the foot of another hill and after few months you will not be able to find the hill that you can see now in the picture. They will dig all they can but will never fill that big hole in their lives.

You cannot have a piece of everything. You are not entitled to. Its the land that is shared by you and me and no one has the right to own it even if the government (organization formed by a group of criminals and hoodlums) sanctions a percentage approval on sand quarrying.

The sand is used for construction and for production of bricks. It would be the same material that would have been used to build the new office for the forest reserve department in Salem.

It is like this, a huge ultra luxury resort hotel clears up a place on top of these hills , bringing down trees and build a spectacular property with imported lawns and flowers etc... The funniest thing is that, you destroyed what was naturally beautiful, and placed your customized nature and hold a sign that reads “do not walk on the lawn, do not pluck flowers, do not disturb the environment”… what in the world is that and how mad are you?

The tall hills are the reason for the climatic balance in that region and these hills and mountains are disappearing on a daily basis. The pace of devastation is faster than creation.

I can‘t wait to see them answered with great vengeance. In the fire of these industries from hell, everything will fall and burn in it.

Sharing their Paradise

As we entered the no border house of ‘Chettaee’, Maalu and Vishnu emerged from their tin roofed house. I was expecting it would be like the tree house of ‘Moopan’, the 90 year old man who lives in the trees house in Kothamangalam. But it was made it to tin as they often had issues of heavy storm and animals trying to enter the house.

Maalu brought us tea and rusks , it was good. Vishnu was getting ready to go up to the mountain where their mother was farming. Maalu too joined her brother to help their parents in farming. Even as their schools were closed they didn’t want to leave home and go elsewhere.

They say that there is no place in the earth that can give them peace like home. And with peace in mind, everything else becomes secondary.

This is where we stayed; take a look at the back ground. That is the piece of earth they hold. Up the mountain, there are many trees that render varieties of fruits. Birds and animals seems like just arrived species.

Saji (Chettaee) pointed me toward a cave up the mountain and told me that he had tried to explore the cave and said have walked in about a kilometer but not sure if he wants to further in without a crew. He says he can hear gushing water and other sounds that anyone would doubt to go further.

We have promised to explore into the cave on our next trip.

As we were entering the forest to explore his farm, we heard dogs bark in distress. Saji chettan and the other farmers quickly ran into his hut and picked up spears and came out and stood in front of us. They said that there is a creature, the color of its skin or fur is like ash, and the eyes are red, the tail is long like the panther but has the face of a wolf. This creature has attacked 3 people in the last 1 year and has taken away their watch dogs and killed their cattle.

One of the reasons for Saji to explore the cave is to stop this creature terrorizing the paradise. But he believes that it also needs to utilize the space around so they try to coexist.

Later in the evening, we were taken into the jungle for hunting. Yes, we found some energy food and we brought it home for cooking. Cannot describe as what we were cooking and eating. It looked like a Tasmanian bear but it is not. It looks like a rabbit but it is not. But the tribes say that these things breed like fishes and there are plenty here.

Later a long days work we were given few sheets of cloth for sleeping and we were given the space they once used for poultry. It was warm and very comfortable.

He also had a surprise for us when he took us to another farm, when we reached the farm; we all thought that if we ever get into the agriculture sector, we will be farming this! (sorry can't disclose that)

Waking up in paradise!

Around 2 in the morning we were crossing NH 49, steering through the Western Ghats and reached the small village of ’Rendam Mile’ Idduki district in Kerala. It was pitch dark and we did not have enough charge on our flash lights. However, we were guided through the woods with the help of some moon light. We were supposed to hike up a mile to reach a small tribal hamlet on top of the mountain. It was too late to climb so we thought to camp mid way and climb the rest in the morning. The breeze was so cold that it put us all to sleep like a tranquilizer shot.

In the morning, it was like someone waking you; I could hear singing tunes from a distance as I am still half in sleep. It was too cold to sleep more so I slowly woke up and what I saw is this …

The song was from a blue koel, he was so gracious in singing and I could sense his excitement. The excitement on an everyday basis. Who wouldn’t sing out of joy when living in paradise?

In my 30 years of waking up from sleep, I never have woken in a peaceful state; it would either be my alarm, or the sounds from the kitchen, door bell or the disturbing decibels from the street, or worse it by thinking of the day ahead in the industrial jungle of metal and fire.

I think the picture would have explained it…

I looked up the mountain as we needed to climb more to reach the village, finding the feasible path to climb. I was told that the people up there live like gods.

I was told that they are strangers to no one. To them we are their distant relatives, visiting them. They knew we are coming and they were expecting us. We could hear their dogs barking, as even they knew that we were coming to visit.

We climbed for about 10 mins and we saw faces emerging from the bushes, we did not even realize they were watching us. One man came out from the bush, waved his hand and said, “This way”.

We followed him; he told us that we will be staying at Saji’s house, a cardamom farmer. He also told us that he is setting up a tent for us outside his house.

This is the land of the God's own people; here all is one to nature and nothing mightier than it.

The strong scents of flowers were increasing as we were reaching their place. Saji’s was the last house in the mountain and it seems to me that I was at the door step of the golden gate. The dogs were the first to welcome us ... Tipu, the lead dog was verifying our ids :)

The Lost Hobbits Of India

As we climbed gaining altitude, breathing became heavy and hard. The wind was against our climb and it was dry cold. We needed to stop and sip some water. I saw some big slated rock over a patch of tall lemon grass.

I showed my team the spot and climbed up on it and sat on the rock overseeing the valley below. The view was as if it was from a watch tower, can see the entrance and exit of the mountain.

That’s when Mattuchami, our guide pointed to the rock I was sitting on a said “do you know where you are sitting?”, “a 4000 year old hobbit’s home”. We were pretty thrilled about that find. It was more like the stone hedges found in middle earth.

The locals call them ‘Kullamanidhargal’ meaning ,short people/dwarfs. But i believe that those people weren’t dwarfs, they had the strength, wisdom and knowledge more than a dwarf tribe or pygmies for instance.

They were the guardians (not sure as what they were guarding) asper the puranas, they had significant strength. If you look at it, each home is made by a single hobbit and each rock is carried from the river bed where these slates are easily chipped out but very heavy to be carried by one hobbit. The river flows at the foot of the mountain where these rocks lay. The trek up was too difficult and long, wonder how they managed to carry those rocks.

These hobbits were often attacked by elephants and they had no strength or the power to tame or fight against them. The locals say they moved from one place to another to avoid being killed elephants. These hobbits do not come out to live with the civilized society. They do not wish to do so for many reasons. Insecurity, inferiority and the folklores from the slaves... They were hunted, captured and killed by the invaders, and top reason is that they felt a lot safer in the forest.

The guide told us where we can find them today. He has given us the contact to reach to them. They live in the hills of Idduki dist and are well protected within a forest reserve. A man from the missionary has promised to take us to them. We have been asked to carry tobacco and some salt as offerings.

Packing for the non sabbatical… meanwhile, follow the cult tour tales…

Deadliest falls, diving into the mouth of the devil.

It was last Friday evening and we were planning to go for a swim at a near by club in Chennai . When we reached the place, it was like a water buffalo convention. The pool was packed. We came back home and thought we should find a nice spot to swim with peace and less dirt.

So we packed our backpacks and set to the western ghats near ‘Perumal Malai’ a mountain range near the forests of KodaiKanal , in Tamil Nadu.We reached the valley around 4 in the morning and explored the village to find a spot to stay.

I prefer finding a small shack and live there but my friends were little uncomfortable staying in shacks and cabins. We found a small resting place called the elephant valley resort. I did not pay much attention to the ambience or anything but was keen to hit the woods asap.

We dropped our bags, picked up our trekking kit and left. Had a map of the terrain, took the copy from the forest officials and a nav-compass. A local farmer as the guide and we moved into deep jungle.

We had to cross about three mountains to see the tallest waterfall. It is not a usual tourist spot as the trek up and down is too difficult for regular tourists or for a film crew. Believe me this waterfall reminded me of the Angels falls in Venezuela

The highlight is that there were at least 50 deaths recorded in that spot. Includes lot of Germans and British tourists. The falls has a cave where the water falls that goes more than 500 feet down into the earth and no one knows where it ends. Once a rich businessman from Andhra Pradesh dived in and was caught by the whirl and sucked him into the cave. Deep sea pearl divers from tuticorin were brought in to find his body but even they feared to go as the currents were too strong. So we stopped there to have a peaceful swim.

We did not go close to the fall, we swam away from it. We can’t afford to die this early or this way.

And by evening we climbed another mountain to avoid crossing elephant and bison regular path. Walking by the foot of those mountains you are sure to be roughed up by an elephant or something.

When we reached the top, i saw rock slabs over the tall grass, a very ideal place to rest and view the sun set. I climbed on to one of the rocks and sat. The guide smiled and said, “do you know where you are sitting?”, “you are right now sitting on a 4000 year old home of a hobbit“

I slowly stood up and I could see atleast a dozen more like them over the hill, a small hamlet of those hobbits once lived here.

Kulikhaa , an Art-craft-argi-cult Carnival

Artisans from more than 15 states, with a display ranging from more than 100 artistic creatives .The products that are coming out this time are different but you will also find the regular bamboo chairs, blue pottery and wall murals. But imagine if you were given access to hold on to a copper coin that has the symbol of the sun. Place the coin at the center of your forehead and concentrate your focus on the center of the coin, you will feel a little heat generating. The procedure is done during the day time when the sun is either setting or rising. Slowly open your eyes and try to see the sun. One can see the flares of the sun with naked eyes. I have.

You will come across spears used by the Naga tribes, the clay pots that are different to cook your vegetables from meat, the 5 metal combined water holder, like a bucket. No need to heat the water artificially , just fill water in the vessel and keep it under the sun for about an 1hr. The water will not only be hot but it will carry content that protects and shields your body from alien impurities.

A great opportunity to meet some of India’s very gifted artisans, like Sivji of Iringal, who has a unique way of signing on his statue work. It is said that old sages and sanyaasis complete their pilgrimage and visit him. They will request him to make a statue of theirs. Sivji makes their statues and in about 4 or 5 days the person attains moksha. Sivji doesn’t like his name listed under ripley’s believe it or not as he says that it is no joke while he makes their statue as he would dream how their death will be.

This is an update to the previous post. It is now confirmed that the gathering of the eminent artisans will take place.

Kulikhaa – elementally meaning, Artisan of Eminent Birth

If you are a squirrel, a full tree is your own heaven.

A life compensated with utmost care from nature against all the inorganic desires.

A synergy of pure spirits that come together for contributing the best in securing the ‘full tree’ for the ‘squirrel’ . A collaboration of the ones who are close to realism and away from the obnoxious needs. An event exclusively for the people willing to experience the unknown.

Preponderance of their humble ability is an experience to be seen and felt. As they come from the mighty care of nature, so is the art born of them. The people, music, dance, food, language, beliefs, and philosophy are so unique that at the end of the journey experiencing the above ends in realizing the self.

It always thrills me every time to walk the trail which leads to me. Ask no question and seek no answer. It will come to you.

We are meeting soon, we are coming together at a centrally located place in the spiritual land of Kerala. They say the good time to come out is during ‘Onam’ season or before. So during the period we are planning to open the doors to the ones who are willing to known the unknown.

The news will be out in someday and everyone will know of it officially.

Come with an open heart and feel the purity. Tips: the way is authenticity.

Intergalactic back packing has started; ready to walk a non-sabbatical voyage!!! The purpose is to bring them together to the mentioned location and provide them with what and how they want things in the order. They will tell us how they need to be accessed during the engagement.

There are few who are willing to join the journey and wants to enter the original dimension of reality.

Please be advised that if you find a snake curled around your neck while sleeping in the tree houses of Kothmangalam or Nelambur, don’t panic, relax, smile in your heart and go back to sleep. The reality , you either wake up or you continue your sleep.

Replace 'Twinkle Twinkle little stars' with ''Ek Chidiya - Anek Chidiya'

'Twinkle twinkle little stars how I wonder what you are ' honestly I didn’t wonder then and I still don’t

In my head I knew that stars are bright objects that are far away from earth and there is no point spending too much of time gazing at it or even singing a nursery rhyme about it. That is my view; there was nothing that I learned from that ‘twinkle stars’…

Looking at things around, the messy situation in which the nation is submerged now, is a result of what was taught at homes or at schools or by the mentors. What we learned was controlled by a system. A system that injects the non required and restricts the required.

Unfortunately they missed to correlate some of the most impactful day to day incidents that connect to great morals and values of life and share the infinite experiences in their teachings.

There are lessons to be learned before the fundamentals. Even much before the A,B,C,D…

One does not need to go to school to learn how to be gentle, be understanding, be helpful, be responsible, be honest, learn to trust, be integrated and safe guard the integrity.

I do not remember reading poems or stories that is based on those elements. Or even if the content have those elements, the focus is not to understand the true meaning or try applying in practice but read it and secure good scores and...

An ant does not go to school to understand that it must maintain its integrity and commitment for the welfare of its society. So where do they get to learn that?

A dog knows to love, trust, and be loyal to its master, so who teaches them to be that way?

Lets share this ; what I liked and what I understood and what I learned from a very old 1974 NCERT animated promo on national integration and unity in diversity by the Indian Govt. The cartoon is in Hindi, language does not matter as the meaning is applicable and common for all.

Ek Chidiya- Anek Chidiya

Such a beautiful message, in this animation, the elder sister teaches the little brother many things about life based on the incidents surrounding them. She teaches him to count, corrects his grammar, and explains to him about 'trust', 'integrity', and 'unity in diversity' by using simplest of the examples covering everything that is important about ethics and the righteous way forward.

In the past we have missed to understand a lot , if such lessons were taught in every home and to every child; today would be a better day than yesterday.

So shouldn't we replace Twinkle Twinkle little stars with Ek Chidiya Anek Chidiya (can translate to English but the original meaning should not be missed) .

The color of water – Into the 6th element

The reflection of the sky is very clear to be seen on the surface of the water. The imagination makes you look closer, one cannot see the sky yet one can see its radiance on the water.

Reality is the original truth and the universe lets it radiate and nothing has a chance to cease it.

This is the work of Mothi, a Pondicherry based artists who is currently working on ‘Murals’.

He does a lot of experiment with lens, lights, colors; his research enables him to produce more new techniques to articulate the art of water coloring.

His interest in his regional culture is exhibited through his painting. His work depicts the beautiful culture of Tamil Nadu.

Unfairly Pixelated

In one of my earlier posts I expressed my opinion about Nano, the car manufactured by Tata Motors for the Indian roads. The “common man’s” car but I called it the 'reaper’s ride'.

Check this; Tata Motors launched Pixel in Geneva for the European market. Now, why is it difficult to offer something of this sort to the common man of India?

The ones who had no option had to take out the Nano with all that shame, guilt, and fear. If Tata would have offered this futuristic design version, then there would have certainly been a significant impact on the consumers opinion on the car and the brand.

Mostly concept cars are unlikely to be owned by a common man with an average income even if his dream was to own one. But it would have been a very proud moment for him if Tata had released these concept cars for him to own one and realize his dream.

I would say that it should be the vision of an Indian based car manufacturer to place a futuristic concept car in front of that common man’s house.

Natyagriha, Of 'Chakyar Koothu' and Sanskrit

“I see artisans living in a world of endless opportunities utilizing invaluable traditional skills along with the wisdom inherited by them and tapping into their creative potentials through craft as a medium consequently providing the world outside of them a classic range of rare, novel & exclusive products that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also eco-friendly having a unique functional value”- Vinit John Ninan , shared one of his visions during my visit to Wadanekurussi.

We were accompanied by Surej, he works for Radio Mango, holds masters in Sanskrit, plays the ‘Mizhavu , performs ‘Chakyar Koothu ‘and knows quite amount of history and folklores . Some of it was information that were lost in the past and the man travels back into time, digs into the clues and bring them out to current times.

His mission is to make the community understand their origin; make them understand their heritage and history, realize their invaluable traditional skills.

Since we had the plan of creating a digital archive he brought in Pradeep who has a HD professional camera. It was a one day shoot and it began at 4 in the morning so that we don’t miss the rising sun, the rooster and the waking of ‘kumbhara Kuttigal’. ‘A day in the Life of a Kumbhara’- ‘Kumbharandey Koodey’. It was really interesting to give some directions to some of the shots and helped Surej finish his work. Role played a little like Scorsese.

Surej spearheads ‘Natyagriha, one of Samgrah Vikas Yojna’s vision.

Transforming energies of emotion

Life was simple and sufficiently provided with everything to live and leave. The almighty Sun, the ever flowing massive forest river with fishes, the centurions that stand tall providing nourishments, and most of it was the way of the kumbharas and their fascinating life style.

Each day begins with ‘Om Suryaya namah’ , worshiping the ultimate energy, the Sun, and the day ends with the ‘kallum paattum’ an evening activity that reminds to all member s that ‘we are all here and we are all happy and so will others’.

The kumbharas respect their history; known their continued struggle, no letters in their language, alienates them from the local land men, unnatural deaths and all this and yet among them I find immense brightness even in the darkest of the hours.

I came across Lakshmi at Nelambur, a middle aged widow with dull sleepy eyes which never glances at the clock since it slowed her down from the time her husband passed away. She has no children and lives all alone.

She does not talk or move around the village much. The beauty is that Lakshmi transforms her emotions into creative energies; her hidden talent was provoked by everything that is happening around her. She wanted to have happy family, a loving husband, a home, children, togetherness, she desired for a simple life.

These clay figurines were made by Lakshmi , she is a kumbhari who is an artist/an artisan/a gifted designer. She writes her stories on those clay figurines that she makes. The clay dances in the hand of of the artist .These are priceless artifacts that are just not made by hobby artisans or design workshops. These are made by authentic Kumbharas with traditional way of processing the clay, heating, resting and sculpted with a lot of feel, …u know…

Children of the Earth

I see the glow, like a reflection of the sun on those faces. I feel the energy trusted upon their spirits. I sense the purity in their existence. Living is simple, yet vitally contributing.

Their roots originate before the ‘tithis’ were charted. They did not evolve to disconnect from their roots as they understand that leaving a world of actuals and live an illusion is not the purpose.

Lesson: In life, the only truth and certainty known is birth and death. Between the two is the space called madness, it varies from one to another and the one who is not mad seems like the mad man.

A life without such complexities, just like a honey bee or an ant, a simple life, yet vitally contributing.

I came to know of the ‘Kumbaras’, the Children of the Earth as i call them, more closer.

'Samagra Vikas Yojana' ,- Holistic Integrated Development, led me to another dimension of life, people, culture, work and how they connect with each other.

Stop, the sign says – Hunger!

“The world would come to an end if a human being dies due to hunger”

having said that we have lived for many centuries being denser than human.

Hunger has many faces, but hunger can come upon one only due to poverty or unavailability. I am not sure as how to categories the rest. Hunger affects in many ways, but ultimately it can be fatal if unattended. Fighting hunger has been a continuous battle and has been fought for ages and even today nations unite fighting against it.

Over the course of time, people, organizations, government institutions have been addressing the pressing concerns of hunger and as economies grew, there were studies conducted on hunger to prepare in resisting it.

The evil hand of hunger has the ability to reach into one’s mind make it weak and weary. It influences thoughts, actions, behaviors, turning almost everything positive to negative.

I don’t believe that hunger is a natural phenomenon, maybe yes it was in the olden days, the saints cruising lands bring plague and hunger upon them, not anymore, with the technology and the science we have now.

Talking of science and technology, I really recommend our team of scientists not to invest billions of dollars to find few droplets of water in Moon, instead, create a technology through which world hunger is solved. (Oh! I almost forgot , if the world hunger is solved, then the problem is solved, if the problem is solved, people wouldn’t need leaders to vote for…oh so that’s how it works…as long as there are problem politicians and kings will rule. Flip side, never mind.)

If you think you are not obliged to help them then you are very wrong. Your responsibility is to take care of the ones whom you can and whom you should. I do my part as told and I know it is one of my purposes.

An Appeal for An Upgrade

My recent visit to Durgapur and Shantiniketan was great. Met a lot of people, experienced their culture, shared urban legends and folklores. I felt people there are warm or would like to stay warm as there is a circle of dependency and everyone acknowledges and respect every co survivors.

During my travel I came across many visionaries, reformists, not political rebels but just commoners who are good people. Sharing their views about life and things around it was like sitting below the ‘bodhi’ tree and attaining enlightenment. I was going through the various profiles of these tribes and rural communities. Each have their own ways to survive as each carry their unique traditional skill sets.

Most communities in India are profiled on basis of the type of businesses, services or the trade that they involve. Customarily, Damais are tailors, Kamis are smiths, Sarkis are cobbler, Dhobis are washerman, Khumbaras are potters and so on...

This is about a particular set of people who live among us and are now fighting for the existence of their clan and culture.

‘Khumbaras’ are ethnic and indigenous community in India who are almost in the edge of extinction. A group of Khumbaras now live in Aruvakode , Nilambur, Kerala and are said to have migrated to these parts during the reign of Tipu Sultan. They are artisans by trade, men who make their crafts with sand and clay. Their way of life is ancient, one that has existed over civilizations. There is a relation here and that’s why I started with my travel to north east and swung all the way down to the south because I see a connection, to make a small change in things.

Most tea shops and in the trains in south India, as far as I have seen, uses ‘plastic cups’. As per the environmental act http://envfor.nic.in/legis/hsm/plastic.html, it is against the constitutional guidelines and it must be maintained.

Now the request to the ministry of environment is to replace the plastic cups by these ‘matkas’ that I came across in tea shops in West Bengal. I am sure it is used elsewhere but I liked the idea of these 'matkas'… even if you thrown it on the ground it just goes back to its natural form and no harm.

But that is not the case with plastics cups. Its choking the environment and suffocates the living.

The Khumbaras should be given the opportunity to produce these ‘matkas’ at government subsidized procured materials. This way they can have a stable income to support their family. Children who are highly exploited to labor and house chores can go to school.

There will be a significant enhancement in the rural development through this project. There will be infrastructural developments , hospitals, colleges, better roads, quarters etc. The chain of good events will only lead to good results and we hope to bring the change soon.

There are social workers who are willing to volunteer in procuring, managing and monitor materials and production. The Khumbaras just need to sit back and do the best in what they do.

It is understood that the quantity of consumption is huge however, we can first start with government institutions, offices and government administered bodies. We can even begin this with the Southern Railways.

The government needs to understand that adding many such ‘Act’ to the constitution does not make the constitution meet the global standards unless the ‘Act’ is enforced and shown in results. The change has to start from there and they need to set examples.

Anyone can work towards this, no experience required but needs real dedication and clear intentions to help people in building a better world for them.

5 Million dreams to become true by 2020

My intentions with respect to the recent activities involving Akshaya Patra and IndiBlogger was clear enough that I am here to support their cause in whatever way the best I can. This is one such activity where I have involved with my heart only and not my mind with any hidden agenda.
The first blogger meet for creating the awareness about this program in the virtual world was held in Bangalore on the 9 of Jan 2011. Many like minded and kind hearted bloggers and non bloggers attended the meet and showed their participation by donating, their blog posts.
The online contest and the meet received raving global response and the buzz was on …
In as sequel , the next chapter at Kolkata is scheduled to happen on the 20th, and i am very much looking forward. And many thanks to the Infinity Infotech Group who has encouraged the past blogger meets and the upcoming ones.

I had a chance to meet with Mr. Ravidra Chamaria the MD of the group over lunch yesterday and he shared with me his views and visions for improving the status and standards of education in India.
He was kind enough to invite me for a fund raiser event in the evening at the oberoi grand for Akshaya Patra. He had also invited Mr Narayana Murthy to give a speech to encourage the people of West Bengal to join the fight against hunger in the state.

Mr Murthy too is an active member of the Akshaya Patra Programs. He shared his experience to the audience, he explained in detail about the process, the stake holders involved and the beneficiaries who are the unprivileged children of India.

Here comes the spectacular part,almost at the end of the event and in less than a span of 30 mins, more than 40 people donated their disposable income to Akshaya Patra and it was estimated to be around Rs 4,500,000 . That is equivalent to provide midday meals to 450 schools every single day for the next one year.

With such overwhelming response from a room seated with around 100 nobel men, the vision of Akshaya Patra can be achieved much easier and much sooner . 5 million school children to be fed by 2020. It can be done before 2020,in my opinion.

I can only see a million more smiles now and a million more dreams that will soon become real for those children in near future.

I have to give you a real time scenario to make you understand the situation. the situation is....

I receive money on my icici salary account.Basically a old account as i don't work for anyone and i just let this account be active. I wanted to go and withdraw the money; it was the end of the month dec 2010, so I had to take this cash out that I had kept as reserve. I went to the ATM to take the cash out and no luck. My card gets declined and the machine instructed me to get in touch with the bank.

So I go to the bank and the banker tells me that “sorry sir you account was a salary account and since you have moved out a year back from your previous company we have blocked the account”. It was a debit freeze and I cannot take any money until I change it to a savings account which will take about 7 days. It was the 30^th of Dec and you know how that is.

So I asked them , ‘why didn’t you communicate this info to me’. The bankers said that they had sent postal letters to my residence. Now, I get a dozen of mails from them. Most of it are promos, details of my account which has mostly nothing in it, the insurance schemes which I have a dozen already and among them this might have just slipped in. So lets just review the whole scenario. I mean I want KV Kamath to look into this and should feel like ‘damn I could have saved a shit a lot of money’ .

I get average of two calls from icici a day for loans , mutual funds, demats, credit cards, insurance from these morons to whom I have told not to call. But they still call (a lot of cost goes there). They send me sms to book movie tickets through icici debit card . Whereas I prefer to call the theater ppl and they deliver my tickets. 10 % discount on using icici debit cards on select restaurants. I am not cheap to ask for a discount for the meal I had. I prefer to pay. (again, money, a lot of it goes for these sms promos too) .

There was not even one call, or one sms or one email to notify about the account freeze.

Now that’s not what I am really concerned. Imagine lakhs of customers like me. Who receives unwanted, unnecessary account details stating your account has 0 balance. Sending that same shit for over 12 months. Check this

Why am I talking ? I worked for Bank Of America for more than two years. Involved in more than 12 eastern zone process implementations and streamlined the refinance operation back in 2000.

When you have the technology, resources and passion to build cars then you should build cars. But, if you don’t know to build cars and can only produce the steel for masking it then my suggestion is to stick to that.

Car building is born out of passion. That’s why the Germans, the Italians and the American cars are spoken for its design and technology that were truly born out of their passion to build the greatest cars in the world.

But if you fix four wheel s, place a steering and fit an engine to the rear over a steel board of 4 by 4, you just cannot call that a car. That is just simply the idea of making money. 1 lakh + rupee car ? You got to be kidding me. That is definitely a box on wheels.

Come on. You now have the technology, so why don’t you build cars instead of boxes on wheels. You have to exhibit that your passion has advanced to the next level and bring out small cars that are affordable, SAFE and has a design that doesn’t look like a mouse trap.

If you want the common man to be among the cars owners make him a proud owner. Take him forward and not backwards. You are just polluting the roads with some metal scarps that were assembled in a Chinese factory. Worst is that you were inspired by the Chinese technology in building cars. Chinese?! Seriously?!

Let’s just hit it now. Take a look at the pics above and tell me what do you want and what do you like. You want boxes to pollute your roads and goes up in flames right after you buy it or rather see that our roads are filled with Camaros, Firebirds, Austin Martins, Lamborghinis...sigh…

Now Ravi Kant (the so called marketing whiz)for Nano needs more than a strategy. What he needs is a miracle, no tv ads, no Rs.99 maintenance contract will help him increase the sale. He needs a miracle, big time.

The ‘Nano’ is just about 2000 crore project (‘just ‘for TATA). They can call back all the units, rip it off, consult with a Italian designer and bring it out as a two seater with better interiors , bring the engine to the front, place a sports engine like the vw polo, make it more sporty looking, as that the only option. The Nano now looks horrible. Its like some bird dropping.

That Camaro above , transforms into bumble bee. Nano might just transform into a bubble gum and pop!

So hear me, if you can’t build cars, then don’t you ever build one. Leave it to the people who can. There are many ways that you can make money, but deceiving the public and making money is not ethical, especially when it comes to cars.

"Just Another Gang Song I Say"

These amigos made my day. I was really pissed of the whole day for reasons . One of them is Anoop decides on naming the indi book ‘B@#$%^’. I felt like measles and dysentery at the same time . Leaving that thought aside I kept browsing youtube videos , just tripping.

This time I was browsing for videos related to gangs and gang related wars and stories from the street. Seems like LA has the worst gangs ever. And there are some ‘wanna be’ gangs trying to make it big or atleast one hit . The culture is basically to show who got balls and guns than who, who can shell out more magazines . Take the street under control and put another money making machine on a dead man's head to run the dope scene . You see a rival gang member; you turn into scare face.

‘I was raised in the hood called what the fuck nigga’- LA gang bang capital of the world. Bloods …cribs…13^th street …18^th street . the shit out there scares the politicians and cops.

But there are some groups which brings down the whole damn seriousness of the issue. There are some gangs , like I said, ‘wanna be’ gangs which gives a different prospective to the gangs of LA and from the streets across the border.

Most of these gangsters will have a rapper among them and or a gangsta rap enthusiast within .But that not how it is...2pac , 50 cents, Biggie, Dre , they had history from the street to rap for and how they were raised in the hood ended doing times and stuff …make it or break it !!!

So the video that I came across is about this gang across the border ‘mehico’…this gang looks like they are in a very pathic condition. I don ‘t think they got real street jobs to do. Max, get a call or two to catch raccoons and rodents at homes and supermarkets. This gang has about 10-12 members. They have two hand guns that are real or replicas and the rest all are christmas gifts. With a12 member gang they have one car that has some kind of a technical issues. I know it is how they do up the cars but this one gets stuck right in middle of the stunt. They had to drive the car home on two wheels as the fourth one never came down got STUCK amigo!

The fat rapper looks like he is a person with a history of insanity in the family plus a very disturbed childhood and I guess he has a pet mosquito . Do you notice the ppl at the back with all that french beard and in white tees…they all look too damn decent.they actually look like web designers or some social media geeks. U never know!

Ok, wondering about those signs they show with their hands? that's simply due to malnutrition their fingers turned that way. Hmmm…so this is what happens inside the world’s most dangerous gang but not actually dangerous but stupid. Flop side senor!

My People My Culture- IndiBlogger Meet Bangalore Oct 2010

#Indiblr . It was a nonstop drive to Bangalore this time. Karthik tried stopping me at several tea shops and road side restaurants but I was just too keen in reaching Bangalore. Anoop was waiting to throw a bomb on us when we arrived “dude IIMB ditched us man, we don’t have a venue now and the meet is just in three days”.

We all switched our modes from “relax have a beer mode” to “what the fuck mode” but we knew that this isn’t going to stop the show. So we head out the next morning determined to find a venue and close the deal by EOD. My driver Sohail helped us in finding Hotels and thats how we came across the Fortune Park JP Celestial near the race course road.

Thanks to Varun Oberoi the head of sale and marketing of the hotel who vouched for us and helped us with getting the venue for the date and time we asked. Big thanks to him. And the LCD tv idea was cool man. Thanks!

I stayed overnight at the hotel before the meet and had a hard time to get some sleep. I slept at 6 am and woke up at 9 am. It was the day of the blogger meet.

We all were relaxed and we know that it is going to be a great meet and so it did. The sponsor for the contest and prizes HP did a great deal in terms of connecting and reaching out to the community. Really appreciate Soumya Dev of HP for all his efforts.

Varun and Soumya they have now become my people and they belong to my culture.

The venue was great, it was on the 7^th floor and it overlooked the race course. Great ambience and the bloggers loved it. 200 + bloggers in a hall live blogging, tweeting and more. Bloggers from age of 14 to 62 were present in the meet.

HP gave away more than 10 printers and some of them was the latest e printers. E printers are basically really cool. Send an email to the printer and the machine takes prints. That cool they are. Mohan was gifted a super duper printer who won the first prize for HP wall of fame. He may put a pic soon on his blog. Check it out later.

IndiPolice - Addy and Hemal as usual making all the noise. Have to put them behind bars for being blogger meet nuisance. Lol! Addy came from Mumbai and Hemal flew down from Delhi. And there was Chada who flew down from Hyd.

I never thought I could make it … to what I am now. I was branded 'underdog' , 'way below average' or something worse amongst the ‘smart’ and the ‘wise’. But there is definitely a comeback for those people who thought they were smart and wise. Eventually, time answers to all questions.

As a child, I couldn’t relate to anything in the world I live. I could not see the difference of what is real compared to what I think and as I see it.

A B C D E F…. I thought alphabets are friends and should never be separated so I always placed them together ABCDEF. And some found it inappropriate. My teachers ...But for me it was cruel to separate friends. That was my world. So speak to me in the language I understand…reach …relate.

Alice’s wonderland was acceptable but not mine? Trust me, mine is way better than Alice’s. A talking rabbit? I had a flying tiger! beat that ! game over !

I can’t look at the dull black board for more than a minute because I like yellow boards with blue writings on it …do you have any? No . I can’t hear you as there is too much of sound around me. I can’t see you since there are too many other good things to look at. What am I talking abt ‘ADD’ man, but no complaints. I took it with good spirit. Yes of course , I did went through shit …a lot of shit…I mean a loootta shit but I made it and I bet you will too.

I don’t quite agree with the terms like… ‘ADD’ or ‘dyslexia’ it is not a disorder or a disease …it is a harmless phantom in your mind. It is just a phase and it cannot be disruptive.

None knew about this at that, and the teachers who are supposed to know about this did not know and they try to reason out with the parents…”out of all the children yours is not what we want here” .

Oh, do you know me too well?? Or you don’t since I haven’t raised my hands ever to answer your “what did the rat say to the cat” questions? …yea… bite me bitch!

And for those kids around me who thought they made it great at school and later turned out be a bunch of losers… man…I laugh at them….like point my fingers and laugh at them.

Oh the number of times I was compared to other kids…made me hate the system, the people who made it …the people who supported it and the people who did not take a minute to understand what exactly was going on.

My education, that is what I accepted as education was for about 3 years… my college. I learned everything there.

My school sucked…the teachers pay all their attention to kids who is smart and who pays a lot of tuitions fees and ‘donations’ for home improvements…and the kids were so corrupted in that age, they knew had no guilt or shame about the whole deal.

So here is the deal ! I can’t Pay Attention to you, your baseless system , I can’t pay attention to your face…I can’t hear you…in the words of Arnie…”talk to the hand cuz the face can’t hear you” …

I couldn’t even turn to my parents for help…I mean…what do you expect from people who were born and brought up in a small town in Kerala. Both my parents are smart…they had great academic history for that matter even my sister. Now , you know how it is … I was the ugly duckling or something. Not many ppl are lucky enough to get parent’s like Suchitra’s who did understand what was going on with their child.

But things do turn around for good…and time did answer it. I was great in everything later… but much later. I was into all kind of sports…college meets…at work and now I have my own business and am well established. Chennai Blogger Meet - March20th 2010

Has almost been two years since the last Chennai blogger meet. It was on June 8th 2008, inside a basement of an old hotel, 130 bloggers from Chennai got together to meet fellow bloggers. It was in fact a historic day for, Chennai was declared as the blogging capital of India.

Two years back, there were approximately 300 bloggers from Chennai registered with Indiblogger and today it is almost 1500 bloggers. Oh yea! Chennai is definitely the blogging capital.

Since then there were 22 blogger meets conducted across the nation and believe me …what love! It was true spirit. Powerful minds join together; it’s like a seven nation army of sane people …woodstock of wise people! A space station of sharp people…ok that’s enough I guess …I am not geeky …you will see me at the meet and you will figure out the rest.

As I was saying … the Chennai community is more versatile, more of substance, more of interaction among fellow bloggers and so much enthusiasm. But if you look at my last post , most people would think that this blogger is dead after leaving a online suicidal note. See , that was total paranoia after mixing vodka, tequila, sambuka and something else which I don’t know what it was. So I thought I was dying… happens man…

I am not a person who prefers violence. But I am a person who reacts to violence with rage. That is exactly just what the Mumbai PD‘s Special Task Force had in mind to upgrade its counter terrorism capabilities. They are replacing arms that were used during World War ll , you know the revolvers, and a semi automatic older version of M15, and you got your .33 pistol.
The AKs we use are not the authentic Russian, they are mostly Chinese made and they tend to get jammed after about 200 rounds.

Scrap'em all , for urban war far and especially for situations like the Mumbai attack, you require weapons that are effective in engaging at similar ‘weapons parameter’ range.

The new weapons that the MPD team has purchased is the, M4 used by most US marines, largely used from the ‘Desert Storm’ times. I can go on about this gun, this lethal weapon can be attached to a 4x4 scope, laser spot, even to a stunner…

Then comes the compact, stealthy, B&T MP9, the most loved gun in Israel, it is also called the Israel UZI… It is fully automatic, as easy as a using a TV remote and the most effective gun for close range parameters.

The next is my favorite the M107, SAR, 50 caliber. Basically a sniper rifle , range between 900-1100 mtrs…oh yea…’one shot one kill’ ....

Now , the part which really pisses me off is that the ‘commission’ has questioned the force for why it has purchased these weapons, without knowing the effectiveness or conducting ‘field test’…field tests it seems

I now realize how much the Defense Force is Ignorant about weapons, usages and everything else related to that. But, one thing, it is not about the weapons, it is about the heart. If you don’t have the balls, there is no point you have a gun in your hand.-move forward, keep the rage in the heart, the war in your mind and defend - KILL.

That's my dream home man , what a design and master piece architecture ...this castle is located on one of the islands near Phuket ...i can settle down there for the rest of my life...all i need is a record player and tons of led zeppelin tracks and some apples... "drink all my wine, smoke all my stuff" and wait for "the spring time of my loving" ...i step out and it would be the sea...and i can enjoy both, the sun set and sun rise, that's better than watching tv man.
and by the end of my journey i shall smile and drift smoothly into the 'bright white light'...

I've been shooting pics with all colors and with flash and stuff... but i also love to take b/w photographs.Since i have a Nikon D40 i have to put it in P mode and play with lot of functions to take a decent b/w pic. I have trouble doing all that since i gotta learn to use the camera.

After 6years of smoking and several attempts to quit during that period, I finally managed to leave the habit behind and carry on as I was before …healthy…clean…strong.

I don’t feel serious withdrawal symptoms or disturbances of any kind.

I feel good.

One of the Indies, Anwin, quit smoking early this year and was very successful.true inspiration...

He read something and quit…I woke up one morning and quit…He mentioned it is a 80% mind and 20%body effect…that is true.

I have stronger mind and that helped me…

Never had the feeling before, but was expected, and now it has got into the hearts and minds of the ones we are among, evolving within us in all disguises, uncertainty.
And damn, the mind is getting adapted to the uncertain end.

Feeling the one whom you know is not around anymore and you are to yourself questioning, whether to play with the devil and react as the same evil or stop, cease the moment and regain the pure selfness.

I'm responsible for this and so are you. If you think this is about terrorism , fuck that, we have seen a lot and we will see more.
It is about what we started very early, pursuing the things which are uncertain in all means.

The most feared virus is out there infecting every single mind existing. Leading everyone to fierce anger and hate.
We are in war, a war within ourselves.

I see friends fight, I see partners split, I feel hate among the loved, I feel the uncertain tomorrow is leading everyone to the broken bridge and I see most of us killing each other and pushing the one behind to take the fall first.

Yea met with him in Mumbai.
I have seen few small time celebs throwing big time attitude and I dint get the feel from him though he is a big time celeb.
Amir is fine as an actor and as a person, he is like one of us (just that he is in bollywood and it is a crazy pl ).
I remember the way he answered questions that the media was shooting at him, few of them was totally irrelevant. It was at the launch of the tata sky + PVR launch where I heard one of the media guys asked him “I heard that your nephew said that his uncle has the best body ever in the movie ‘Gajini’”.
(What? Man its is a launch of an advanced version of the dth and you asking him some candy ass question)
So, he was cool and he simply asks the person to repeat the question, twice, then thrice… until the media person himself got embarrassed of his question.
After the event, i was with the team and met him in his room at the Hyatt and we had a small chat, I gave him my card and asked him to call me if he needed anything (hehehehe… yea right)

but this isn't over man...there is gonna be more post on the behavior of media at the event.Media Madness i say...!!!

It really doesn’t make sense for one to imagine or think of some technical enhancement that can make our television viewing much friendlier and highly flexible.

Back in the 70s, recording your favorite shows was just a part of the daily routine. Using a video recorder and some controls, this was made simple. That may have been the year of innovation of the video recorder.

Well those things reach this land very slow; however it was a good effort to include this feature to one of the DTH services available today.

Tata Sky has it now, I’m not sure when the dealers will get a hand on those new set up boxes…

So, gone are the days for one to hear this…..

‘Man, I got to go to work today and I am gonna miss today’s cricket finals and God knows when and which channel will they telecast the highlights’…..

That is so true. Or the Saas Bahu….ahh cripes. Sitcoms! … Who cares about the Saas and Bahus series man????? … Someone please tell me that people won’t use this trendy technology to record those kinds of crap of all shows….

So, do you think a 100+ GB of storage facility within the set up box will record the match for you? Hell yeah, may be the whole season. And sit back, lay back on the shack and relax watching those highlights.. (since you know the score already hee hee!!)

But I can see that there are some TV glued people who were buzzed about the whole thing that, Tata Sky was coming up with the DVR (digital video recorder) feature at the initial launch of the product, and they were disappointed. No more, as the DVR is on its way.

This could be the Tata sky 2.0 launch huh? Nice time to do this as there is a new competition has born. But the others don’t have the feature but has other features like… I don’t know what.

If Tata Sky can do this I bet someone is gonna come up with the same add on feature and add another kick in the ass feature like ’ buy the newly improved XXX DTH which comes with your own personal satellite revolving the orbit’.

Heh heh … well lets wait and watch!

Kolkata Blogger meet was one of the best blogger meets ever, felt like home there.

Till morning I had no clue how it was going to be and by afternoon I was all upset looking at the venue and our place to stay. I was concerned about bloggers response to all of this.
But, later I would say the bloggers responses made me more at ease and was able to have full-on fun every minute!

We wanted to stay a day longer to be with some of the bloggers and check out Kolkata but we had our flights booked early next day.
The most colorful, cheerful and sweetest people I have ever met.

After the big season of ‘Band of Brothers’, was wondering if we had such heroes in our battalion. I’m sure we have. I believe those were the people who gave birth to thousands of patriotic Jawans for our country.

But suddenly my whole good views and respect for ‘rank’ and ‘medal of honor’ all came down like Jack who climbed the mountain.

Kapil Dev man?! I wouldn’t be surprised if I wake up one morning and Shahrukh Khan being given the position as the ‘President of India’.
Lt Colonel, that is the position that Lt Speirs from Easy Company was when he retired.
After the war in Germany, most men returned home and stayed for ever, but he was there till the end.
He continued his mission to the Pacific and won against the Japanese.
That man retired as Lt Colonel.

Now Kapil Dev, retired from Cricket and became the Lt .Colonel?!
I’m sorry I’m, not following say that again, but this time slap me twice and say that again,
Kapil Dev became the Who?!

What’s with these people man? Isn’t that the man who cried on national television?
I have no idea where this nation is leading to.
And honestly, we have people who had been in combat and may be took a bullet for his fellow men and Kapil, he would taken hardly a wicket for his men.

If he can prove to be in that position then he can or else it is a disgrace to the Rank of Lt. Colonel.

We were on our way to Delhi for the Delhi blogger meet.
We had to stop by Mumbai to pick some people and fill fuel and rest for sometime.chilling out...

Just then I thought lets take a look inside and maybe try to turn those little knobs in the cockpit.
Picked up a conversation with the hostess (was smooth baby yea! ) and stepped right into the captain’s room.
I looked down at the pilots and said’ ok boys we are taking over from now’ they smiled and one of them got off the seat and said ‘all yours’ ….

Lt Colonel Speirs – the man had more minerals!!!

The most respected and feared officer of the Company.

The profiles I create in Medal of Honor (PS2) Airborne, Vanguard and Frontline is all Lt Speirs

His work is greatly remembered and he is a legend during the battles.
He was initially with the D company (Dog Company) as the platoon leader and assigned to Easy in Bastogne.

I get goosebumps when I see his dare devil action during battle in the TV series
‘Band of Brothers’.
My favorite is when he takes over the command from Norman Dike and lead the men to move forward.

The scenario was:
Winters became the CO for the battalion and his order was to stay in the line and give commands to the Lt Dike.
When Easy Company moved in, Dike lost his orientation and forgot to take necessary steps and orders his team to hold and fall back, while Dick Winters was ordering them to move forward.
First Srgt Lipton gave a temporary order to take cover till next orders.

CO Winters calls upon Lt Speirs to go in…

He follows the order and engage in combat. Check out the video, the section ‘At Foy’
He jumps through a bomb explosion clearing the smoke. Awesome!!!

But that is just the beginning of the day, now he does another dare devil stunt that even the Germans were zonked.

The actual plan was to attack the Germans by E company moves from the front, I company will move in from the rear of the small village and capture prisoners. But E has to tip I company in moving in.

Since the team was split during the battle and there was no way they can tip I company to move in, Speirs became the runner and crosses enemy lines and right in front of the Germans, at first they dint know what to do, later started shooting at him. He dodged all the bullets, jumped the wall, found I company, signaled them to move in and the best part is, he came back running and joined his men.

Rumor has it that Lt Speirs shot 20 POWs after offering them cigarettes. He shot his own man for finding him drunk during duty.

He was the only one from the company who stayed with the Division, and retired as Lt Colonel.

He died in the year 2007.

Lt: “I believe the drop zone is too bloody and you will be surrounded by enemies”

CO Winter: “we are the airborne division; we are supposed to be surrounded”

CO Dick Winters was the first a paratrooper, then the platoon lead then became the First Srgt, and later First Lt and then became the CO of the entire battalion by the end of battle at Haguenau.

Winters joined the E Company (Easy Company) 101st Airborne, 506 PIR (parachute infantry regiment)

I understand the term ‘defamation’ and ‘denigration’ and to give an example of the opposite of these terms would be ‘throwing crap at each other’.

First indiblogger meet

This was before I officially joined the indiblogger team.

After I met Renie at work, we sat down and spoke about what he was doing and asked me to join for the meet.the first indiblogger meet at Microsoft Bangalore.

I had no clue of what it was, anyways, I thought it would be good to spend the weekend in Bangalore. I met with his friends , Anoop the zombie , Anwin the friend of Zombie and Renie and Naveen another friend . Basically they all are childhood friends….like ‘jetty-pals’. And turned out that over a round table brain storming session with a bottle of Johnny Walker, the whole concept was built, which is good and very healthy indeed.

You can see Renie giving a speech; I don’t think anyone was listening.
You can see me giving a speech , actually I was saying nothing (it was just for the camera)
Anwin had to talk first , then we thought he shouldn’t have .Anoop and Renie was on the stage calling on to bloggers to do the ‘indiblogger jigg’. Oh that jigg is catching up like fire all over the nation man.

The event was great …great pizzas and lots of beer after the meet.
It was the beginning and there was Hyderabad, Pune , Mumbai and more to come…
well what can i say to conclude ....

Lets play cricket!

It was a Saturday morning after a heavy previous night hang out (tgif ceremonies), my colleagues managed to catch up over a match.

We were supposed to start by 6 am and to keep up our time, we started by 7.
We all were like zombies man…
The most sleepy ones decided to be the umpire and the few to have a track of overs and scores. Slackers…

Most important and fun part is that my team won all the matches …yeah! We kicked some ass I say…

And yes that’s me facing the ball. If u look close I’m not even looking at it J
So, now you know how I play cricket. It is not for the love of cricket or to get up from your bed when you are in the middle of a dream with Adriana Lima in the carribbeans , but it is for the trip man.

I hate playing cricket with some serious ppl (dorks) who would play thinking street cricket would get them national fame and recognition.

But,with these guys, the game is cool.

That shot was straight for 4 man… it was like playing the game after 10 years and I could manage to hit a 4 … and there was glory! I kinda felt like those dork at the moment.

The group of people you see are from my office and they were sitting and passing their expert comments and important points to remember while you are playing cricket. Like wear underpants before you step into the pitch …cause it would be unpleasant for the wicket keeper…

Business Schools- Reverse Order!!!

Business Schools…

Syllabus standards to child psychology, most of the schools have not identified the root level of the teaching system considering the various facts which contributes in educating a child.

The schools where the free meals system is practiced, usually a government funded and administered schools , believes in the concept that a free meal will make a parent and the child take interest in getting educated. But has there been a real correlation to this theory analyzed?
I’m sure that most of the government school kids has identified that the system is wrong and corrupt and not going to help them in future and seek for better education or tend to work because of no financial support.
Now, when I mentioned about child psychology, if a 5th grader can think in these terms, it is bad that the government hasn’t interpreted ‘what next’.

It starts from there; it ends up in ‘quit india movement’. The most powerful natural resources is in the brains of the Young India and they have understood decades before that this country concentrates more on the most unnecessary issues and have not growth plan for the ones who has the substance of building a powerful country. Hence they leave their lands in search of hope.

Coming back to schools, ICSE and CBSE are like the class of educational system, but not really. It is been rated ‘class’ as in for the admission fee and horse riding courses and tutors with high profile back ground.
Can’t it be education oriented towards the future, can’t the system of education be applicable to all. Can’t the system avoid the dissecting the brain of a frog and educate a child who is interested in economics/commerce/management.
Why can’t all be provided with this system? No discrimination, no special level of attention, no tutors with cane, no abuses, no ignorance to social causes, no race, only valuation system subject to line of study. Whoever, no matter being the son of PM or son of a peon, it is the mind and power to be put on test and value the caliber.

But unfortunately no, it can’t be that way, if that was the case, schools makers can’t make money doesn’t matter of what a child’s future is but ensure the investment are secured and returns exceeds the margin.
Money plays it all, right from purchasing democracy of India to life of a child.
The term business carries no emotion.
Here, the term ‘Business School’ is indeed very apt!

Sad Ads: (Tele-brand types ok?)

The most unacceptable air time acquirement happens over the branded and reputed channels like Discovery, Nat Geo, etc…

I love to be educated and moreover would love to watch animal safari and naturalist’s video documentary about animals, places and people etc…in the night.

Now who in the world would watch Tele-brands at midnight and on the top of it the product they present is not interesting like Xbox or any new age gadgets, so guess what that product is , actually a by product of some tree, Yes, the ad is about “Rudraksh” a ‘rare’ nut found from a particular tree.

The ad claims that when purchased and worn, it gives one with lot of cosmic energy and ‘universal wisdom’.

Yes, and added to that the usual very convincing sales pitch "buy one nut and get another nut free"

"Share your nut with your friends"

"Spread the word about your nut"

"Yes order now or we might run out of the ‘divine nuts’..."

How could these channels have such brands and totally ignorant organism to infect their air time? Ban them from screening and tell them to get regular jobs than selling ‘nuts’,

Especially those who failed in the small time soap operas who are the brand ambassador for the ‘nuts’

Traffic updates…

Ever wondered why there was an enforcement of wearing helmets by our Chennai Traffic Administration or the Road Safety Unit or whatever they have been named as on to the two wheelers (this movement will be termed as in corporate terms “process improvement” in our terms “mega crap of ideas”)

But in a way, they did have some consideration to the two wheelers, having in their minds the way traffic/roads are being managed.

This is the scene,an electric post coming up from nowhere, tree in the middle of the road, for that matter have seen temples in the middle of the road and people who want to have a quick pray, will ride or drive the vehicles thrice around the temple (making it also as an round about) and gets to have a 'Darshan on the way'…

I have seen huge stones which would fall of the median line and would protrude out, that can cause a small vehicle to trip over.

Now,what all are the things that one should see while using the road, no one would least expect that to happen on a “well maintained road”. Come on roads are turning out be a war zone…”hey watch out for the live wire …oops …boooff!!! Nobody wants to end up with a nice electric fried tushi”

To avoid major fatal mishaps mainly caused by our ‘smart team of big tummies’, they sat by a tea shop and came up with that idea…

Imagine the revenue projections they would have calculated…

Commission from the helmet shops who sell them and fine from those who don’t buy and wear them.

Irony , most cops using motorcycles don’t wear helmets…
